Anyone have a good route to Burlington? I've mapped a route mainly on hwy 97 and down through Waterton on Centre St. but just wondering if someone has a better route. Thanks.

Hey,
I've done this route a couple times. These are mostly very good roads with little traffic. I just dragged the google map directions to fit the route, I think it doubled up at one point, but the main route is there. I would take Trussler or Fischer-Hallman out of town, not sure where you are leaving from. I used to work in Paris so always took this route down. It brings you right onto Plains road in Burlington.

Let me know if you take it/how it goes....not sure why the link is so long!

I am originally from Burlington and have ridden there many times.
Where are you leaving from in KW and where are you going to in Burlington exactly?
Do you want the most direct route (about 80 km) or one of the many scenic routes (100 km)?

I'm leaving from SW Kitchener. Looking at the shape of the roads on Google Earth, Blair Rd, to Hwy 97, then down on Centre Rd through Waterdown looked like the best route. Now that I look at the Paris route it looks pretty good and likely less traffic. A little longer and I think the weather will dictate which route I take. Whether the shorter or longer scenic route.

My motivation for biking down there.....A friend of my wife was killed on a bike in Burlington about a month ago. Experienced rider too. Really was a freak accident. There is a walk for her that night, but I thought as a tribute I'd ride down and sort of bring awareness to safe biking/safe driving.

Thanks, appreciate the replies. Let me know if you had a better route.

Very nice route, took it yesterday and worked out well. Great scenery very little traffic. Couple of the roads were a little rough, but the lack of traffic made up for it. Would do it again. Thanks.
