Food Cycle Ride

May 29, 2011 - Fergus Ontario

Ontario 43Km and 70 km road events in support of Centre Wellington Food Bank

Enjoy a Bike Ride through a Scenic 43 or 70 km Course along the Grand River and through farming communities of Northern Wellington and Waterloo Counties. This is a mass participation event with different routes for both road cyclists and casual riders that is held for the benefit of those in need of the services of the Centre Wellington Food Bank. The Food Cycle Ride is not a race. It is an opportunity to ride the beautiful, Wellington and Waterloo region area roads on a course supported with marked routes, route marshals and a couple of rest stops for those who need to replenish water bottles or use the facilities. Proceeds from the ride will support the Centre Wellington Food Bank programs. Priority for the funds will be given to buying food products from local farmers and using the Food Bank's community kitchen to prepare these foods to add to the CWFB's food baskets. Tour de Waterloo - Waterloo

Sunday June 26, 2011 - Columbia Lake Health Club

Mass participation, OCA sanctioned, fully supported road cycling event geared towards serious road cyclists, weekend riders and recreational cyclists willing to test their fitness with 3 routes to choose from 130 km, 70 km and 40 km. New in 2011, VIP group will lead riders on a 5 Km rolling, neutral start led by Leigh Hobson - 2008 Canadian Olympic road cyclist and other prominent community VIP's. Routes will be well marked with support/rest stops and take in the rural roads around the Waterloo/Wellington county region. Proceeds to Grand River Hospital Foundation Architects of Care program. Register to ride with an option to buy our new vintage cycling jersey or solicit pledges and earn a jersey plus a chance at a major cycling trip for 2 draw prize. Catered barbecue meal by Hog Tails barbecue restaurant will be provided to all registered cyclists at Columbial Lake Health Club after they complete the ride. Sears National Kids Cancer Ride

September 7th to 22nd - Vancouver to Halifax

The Sears National Kids Cancer Ride is one of the biggest and most ambitious charity cycling events on behalf of childhood cancer in the world. From September 7th to 22nd, cyclists will ride a 15-day, 7,000 km trans-Canada odyssey from Vancouver to Halifax. Selected National Riders will traverse the country, joined along the way by thousands of other caring cyclists who cycled shorter distances along the way in cities across Canada. Together, our cyclists will raise money on behalf of charities that improve the quality of life for children, and their families, living with and beyond cancer. Our destination - beyond cancer!
